Update: 1:54PM NAVOSA police will undertake a new approach in their effort to combat drug cultivation in the highlands.
This is after 290 mature marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $200,000 were uprooted by Keiyasi police officers this week.
Station officer Inspector Uraia Davu said the plan was to visit all households in the Nasikawa district and to interview the villagers on their sources of incone.
"We have discovered through our farm raids that some families have high-class household items worth thousands of dollars but they have only few dalo plants and yaqona," he said.
"We dont know where these villagers get their money from to purchase these household items in cash."
