Tagi drops weight for fight

Update: 7:00PM NAITASIRI Prince Opeti Tagi flexed his muscles when he met Rey Anton Olarte today during their weigh-in for tomorrows 10x3-minute contest.

Tagi, lined up to meet Junior Farzan who pulled out because of injury, had to shed some weight after he tipped the scale by 2.5 kilograms.

He weighed in at 70.3kg while Olarte weighed 67.8kg.

The fight in the Naidiri Boxing Promotions program in Nadi was given the green light after Tagi sweated out and weighed in at 69.5kg.

"Rey is a good and stylish fighter," Farzan said.

"If Opeti makes a mistake then it will be a bad night for him. Experience will make a difference in this bout."

Program: 4x3m Franko Fraser-Aisea Raqili, Sachin Mudaliar-Ajmat Manna; 6x3m Isaia Maku Junior, Ulaiasi Naivogo Junior, Waisale Ratu-Ronald Naidu, Alipate Naqata-Napoleon Taumoepeau; 10x3m Opeti Tagi-Rey Anton Olarte.
