Update: 12:15PM ROADS have suffered damage as a result of the rainy spell experienced around the country.
Fiji Roads Authority chief executive officer Neil Cook said the worst damage was in the rural areas, "where a lack of gravel and a history of poor drainage maintenance combine to make some roads impassable".
Mr Cook said road inspectors were assessing the damage and planning works to repair the damage to roads, bridges and crossings.
"We want to assure everyone that no road is being forgotten and we will get there soon but the extent of the damage means we cannot be everywhere all at once," he said.
