FOUR soccer matches that were scheduled to be played at Govind Park in Ba have been postponed.

Labasa, Savusavu, Tavua and Ba were supposed to feature in the league matches this weekend. The matches would have been their first games of round two as all four teams have completed their nine round one games.

A statement from the Fiji Football Association the reason for the postponement was the ground conditions.

"All National Football League matches scheduled at Govind Park this weekend have been postponed as the ground is not in a playable condition," said the statement.

"Other matches will go on as scheduled," it said.

The news comes as a relief to the Savusavu side that was to come to Viti Levu to face Ba and Tavua respectively.

Savusavu Football Association secretary Niraj Lal said the side was ill prepared for the two crucial matches.

He said weather conditions in the Northern Division for the past two weeks made it difficult for his side to prepare for the Viti Levu tour.

"We found it very difficult to train because of the rain," Lal said.
