NONE of the overseas players have been named in the 20-member Fiji Under-20 squad list that was submitted to the Oceania Football Association for the regional U20 playoffs which starts in Lautoka next week.
The team list which was sent to OFC earlier this week comprises of local players only.
A total of five players from New Zealand were named in the extended Fiji U20 training squad last year. They included Divikesh Krisnil Deo (Papatoetoe High), Sohail Basha (Saint Peters College), Joseph Turagabeci (Liston College), Trishaal Gajen Naidu (Unitec) and Soheb Zaffar Sheik (Manukau City FC).
Ba's Jone Salauneune is the lone player in the team who was part of the Fiji U20 campaign in 2011.
Nadi's rising stars Rusiate Matirerega and Napolioni Qasevakatini, Navua's Kolinio Sivoki, Rewa's Setareki Hughes and Nadroga's Tomasi Tuicakau are some of the district reps who have made the cut.
Fiji Football Association vice president and national team director Tarunesh Reddy said the 20 member list had been submitted to OFC due to the deadline.
Reddy said all other players who had not been named could still force their way into the team.
He said changes to the team could be made during the technical meeting prior to the kick-off on March 21.
"We will have our final hit out against Lautoka on Sunday," Reddy said.
"The aim was to make a winning start against Vanuatu on Thursday. We will not take any teams lightly in the tournament as this is our best chance of reaching the world stage."
The winner of the OFC U20 playoffs will qualify for the 2013 FIFA World U20 Cup in Turkey from June 21 to July 13.
