THE inclusion of six national reps will boost the Army cricket side in their cup semi-final match with Ono tomorrow.

The match at Albert Park will be the last for the national reps in the Suva Cricket Association round two competition before they depart for Botswana for the World Cricket League Division 7 (WCL 7) Tournament the following week.

Association president Adriu Misiki said the HMT-sponsored Army side leads the points in competition while Ono is making a surprise appearance in the semi-finals.

He said the other semi-final would see Moce I face TKG Yadrana.

"Army is still the favourite to win round two competition as they have been doing so in the last couple of years," Misiki said.

"They have six Fiji reps in their squad which will threaten any team that comes their way," he said.

"Jikoi Kida, Kitione Tavo, Jone Seuvou, Sevuloni Baba and Tukana Tavo are all going to give their best and show the cricket community why they have been chosen to represent Fiji and why Army remains the favourite team to win the competition."

Misiki said Ono carried the underdogs tags and would be aiming to cause the biggest upset of this weekend's competition.

"The upcoming and well disciplined Ono side has a huge mountain to climb.

"They have shown that they can cut down Goliath as they have done throughout the season.

"Even though they do not have any big names in the team, the spirit of togetherness and the urge to win and create an upset will be the motivating factor for Ono to play a very competitive game with Army," he said.

Army faces Ono at 11.30pm at Albert Park.
