Scotland debut
EDINBURGH - Grant Gilchrist is set to make his Scotland debut after being named in the team to face France in the final round of Six Nations matches this weekend. The Edinburgh lock comes in for the injured Richie Gray in one of two changes to the team that lost 28-18 to Wales at Murrayfield last weekend.
Tevez charged
MIDDLEWICH, England - Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been charged by police with driving with his licence suspended and without insurance. The Argentina international, who was arrested last week, was formally charged on Wednesday and will appear at a magistrates court on April 3.
Al Gharafa
KASHIWA, Japan - Former France international striker Djibril Cisse scored twice as Al Gharafa defeated Iranian league champion Sepahan 3-1 in a Group C match in the Asian Champions League in Doha on Wednesday. Defender Mohammad Ali Ahmadi gave Sepahan the lead after just 13 minutes but a close-range strike four minutes later and a second-half header from Cisse put Qatar's Al Gharafa in front.
Purtell cleared
LONDON - Bradford's Australian centre Adrian Purtell has been cleared to resume his career after completing a full recovery from a heart attack. The 28-year-old has not played since being taken ill in the aftermath of Bradford's defeat by Leeds at Manchester's Etihad Stadium on May 27.
