A 49-YEAR-OLD woman of Nawairabe Village in Navosa has been taken into police custody after being found in possession of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the leaves were found packed in a plastic bag and stuffed in a sack of oranges.

In a statement, Insp Sokomuri also revealed a drug raid at Naco Farm Rd by the police drug unit led to the discovery of six plants believed to be marijuana.

He said the height of each plant ranged from 50 centimetres to 115 cm.

"The suspect is in custody and the plants have been sent to Koronivia (Research Station) for analysis.

"The police are again warning people who involve themselves in this illegal trade to follow the law."

Members of the community who have any information on drug dealers can call 919/917 or the nearest police station.
