A NADI cane farmer woke up on Tuesday morning to a huge pile of trash dumped by his cane field.
He said he was shocked that people had no regard for the danger posed by littering along the Nadi Back Rd.
Cane farmer Ravind Kumar, 47, said the truckload of empty water bottles was a ghastly sight and he feared rain and flash flooding would scatter the litter all over his property.
"Those responsible should be disciplined. And those caught should be severely punished," he said.
"The nearby drains have always been blocked after heavy rain and that's when you see all the rubbish.
"People have been dumping rubbish in the area for the past years. It's a serious problem. People don't or just refuse to understand how their actions impact on hundreds of others.
"Please, I urge people to dispose of their garbage properly."
