TRADITIONAL leaders and members of Nadroga Navosa Provincial Council have been urged to take responsibility for the changes happening in their villages, districts, province and country.
Council chairman and Nadroga chief Ratu Sakiusa Makutu made the comment while addressing a leadership and management workshop organised by the iTaukei Affairs Board at Talenavuruvuru in Sigatoka.
Ratu Sakiusa urged the leaders to make use of the workshop and apply all they learnt in the vanua.
"This workshop is to assist the leaders within the vanua to be more efficient and effective, and to allow them to take a leading role in improving the welfare of their people," he said. "Numerous changes have taken place in our society, and it is therefore important for the traditional leaders, to understand and take responsibility in managing the changes within their communities.
Senior assistant Roko Tui Nadroga Rusiate Raidaveta said the workshop would be held in various districts.
"The district level training includes participants like the turaga ni yavusa, turaga ni mataqali and the headmen," he said.
