THE increase in the number of teams competing in the Suva Cricket Association weekly competition has seen a change in the competition style.

Association president Adriu Misiki said that in the past, only one final was needed to determine the cup winner.

But this time, he said they would divide the teams into three different levels to have three different finals.

"From this season, we will start having three finals — one for the main cup, one for the plate and one for the bowl," Misiki said.

"Now we have 12 teams competing and so to make the competition interesting, we are going to follow this pattern," he said.

He said the bottom four teams to compete in the bowl competition had been identified.

"So far we have confirmed three teams for the cup semi-final and the four teams for the bowl competition.

"The battle for the last spot in the semi-finals of the cup competition is between three teams.

"This weekend's competition would determine all the spot in all the semi-finals."
