THE Raiwaqa Basketball officials are anticipating intense battles in the elimination stages of the Super League this weekend.
After the final round of pool games yesterday, the officials revealed that teams were upbeat of booking their spots in the later stages.
In the women's division, former Easter champions Sparks leads the charge together with Dynamic Redz, Chosen, Golden Bati and Mystics.
The Redz team laced with upcoming basketball players are creating their own waves in the league.
Sparks, led by Lynn Koyamainavure looks to be the dominant force in the women's division.
Raiwaqa Basketball official and former national rep Peniasi Kainamoli said they were pleased with the performance of the teams. "All clubs are just showing that they are determined to play in the knockout stages. The competition is just so tense and we can see that teams all want to play in the knockout stages," he said.
"All teams are fighting to book their spots at the upcoming Easter championship. They are all delivering the goods and this week, we are expecting exciting performances from teams," Kainamoli added. Top teams for the men are Boston White, Macpacers, Bryce, Boston Red, Mighty Mights, Veterans and Golden Bati.
