Goundon holds on to win Summer Cup golf in play-off

THE closely-contested BSP Life Summer Cup competition came to exciting end on Saturday with a play-off to decide this year's winner at the Fiji Golf Club course in Vatuwaqa.

This after young and upcoming Masileno Naupoto and veteran Ramesh Goundon were tied on the leaderboard.

Goundon used his experience to emerge the winner on the 18th hole following the play-off and was crowned the 2013 Summer Cup champion.

In the final round of the competition, top amateur golfer Olaf Allen Jr stood out after winning the A-grade competition with 41 stableford points.

In B-grade competition, Papua New Guinea High Commissioner Peter Eafeare scored 38 points to finish on top followed by Moses Fong on second.

In the ladies division, Ufemia Naisara scored 35 stableford points to win division one while Lilian Allen (37 points) won the division prize.
