THE Golden Eagles team will go in as favourites for the Lautoka Rugby Union Club 10s tournament at Nadovu Park today.
Golden Eagles, which was formerly known as the Covenant Brothers club, won the inaugural LRU 10s tournament last month.
The side defeated Draulu 18-0 in the cup final.
LRU game committee chairman Suka Rabitu said they were staging the 10s tournament after two weeks.
He said all the top clubs under their banner had registered for the second tournament.
"We were forced to postpone the tournaments in the last two weeks because of bad weather," Rabitu said.
"Golden Eagles will be aiming for back-to-back titles. They will face stiff competition from last year's champions Vitogo, Vio, Vuda Green and Vuda Blue.
"Army will be coming in full force while Duiyasana is one of the underdogs winning the plate title in the last tournament.
"There will be cash prizes for the winner and runner-up."
The 10s tournaments are being used by the LRU to select its squad for the 2013 season.
The tournament kicks off at 8.30am.
