NATIONAL hero Iliesa Delana yesterday made his final public appearance in the country before he departs for Australia.

He leaves for Brisbane next week to train and prepare for the World Championships that will be held in Leon in France in July.

Yesterday, Delana launched the Iliesa Delana Foundation - Friends of Fijians in Need Anti-Bullying and Anti-Social Behaviour Campaign at Rampur College in Navua .

According to Delana foundation manager Julie Alexander, the campaign is supported by the Fiji police, and the ministries of Education, Youth and Sport.

"Iliesa Delana in his speech reiterated the need for children to recognise that bullying is not right and should be stopped immediately," Alexander said.

"He said children need to come together in recognising that they can be stronger working in teams and embracing each other's culture, however different the homes they come from may be and however different they may look, we are all human beings and discrimination and bullying is wrong," she said.
