FLOODwaters receded in affected areas of the Northern Division yesterday.
Divisional Planning Officer Northern, Alipate Bolalevu said although the weather had improved, the government team set up to monitor the situation remained activated.
"We are glad that the weather has improved and flood waters receded," he said.
"However, our team will continue to monitor the situation. We are fortunate to have no reports of casualty and it is a positive sign that the public are adhering to weather warnings. It also shows that the public are being cautious and listening to advice of authorities during bad weather which helps save lives."
Boubale bridge, outside Labasa Town was opened to traffic with students and workers returning to work and school yesterday after staying home for almost a week.
