FLOODING problems at the Namosau area in Ba affecting 250 residents will be a thing of the past with the completion of the Ba Town Council's Climate Resilient Project.

The project was commissioned by Minister for Local Government, Colonel Samuela Saumatua yesterday.

Col. Saumatua also handed over $50,000 to the council to go towards completion of the project.

Ba Town Council special administrator, Arun Prasad said the project involved the diverting of the Namosau Creek as a flood mitigation initiative.

"The creek caused flooding to all Namosau residential areas affecting almost 250 people," he said.

"This area is also very important to the town as it is where the Ba Mission Hospital is located."
