THE Perpetual Cup challenge match between Police and VICC will be replayed this weekend.
Heavy rain in the capital city washed-out competition at Albert Park midway in the challenge match last Saturday.
The Novotel-sponsored VICC side was on 115 runs for the loss of five wickets at 17.5 overs when it started to rain.
Suva Cricket Association president Adriu Misiki confirmed that other matches cancelled because of the rain last week will also be played this weekend.
"There was some confusion on Saturday as to whether the match would be replayed or not," he said.
"So I would like to clarify that the match will be replayed and the same goes for the other afternoon matches that had to be called off because of the rain."
Misiki said the move would hinder their plan to finish the competition before Easter.
"We wanted to complete round two of the competition before Easter and just because of the weather, I think that might not be possible.
"This is because we now have more teams than when we started the season off with and this will affect schedules," he said.
Meanwhile, the Cricket Fiji-organised Tailevu South Primary Schools Competition at the Nakelo District School last Friday was won by Nasamila Primary.
Development officer Ruci Kaiwai said the children improved on their skills and competition.
"The last time we were here, the kids held the bat different and they hit the ball straight but this time, they held the bats properly and hit in some fancy ways," she said.
Seven schools took in the competition, namely, Nasamila Primary, Daku Primary, Kaba Primary, Rt. Veikoso Primary, Nuku District, Nakelo District, Rt. Ravuama Memorial.
"Nasamila Primary won the competition, in second place was Ratu Veikoso and third was Kaba Primary. We started the day with clinics where we taught the kids skills and techniques of playing and then we had a competition to see who used the skills and techniques and it was a successful outing for us and them as well," Kaiwai said.
