THE baby of the national sevens squad, Josua Tuisova will be considered for the next leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series despite missing a fitness test yesterday.

National coach Alifereti Dere said there were a number of options for Tuisova that they ccould take.

He said if the 19-year-old failed to make the 7s cut, he would not be axed from the national training squad.

"With Tuisova we have discussed that the selectors will get other options for him in the national squad," Dere said.

"There is the under 20 and Pacific Rugby Cup (PRC) and I think the selectors are talking about shifting him to those teams."

He said the Tokatoka Westfield Barbarians player has not contacted the team management to notify them of his intentions.

"We will still consider him in the 7s squad. At this moment he will still be a part of the 21-member squad until the selectors think otherwise."

Dere added if Tuisova did not make the team to the Hong Kong and Tokyo 7s tournaments, there are other players in the squad who could play at rover.

"If he (Tuisova) does not make it then we have Osea Kolinisau, Manasa Nayagi and Donasio Ratubuli for the rover's position and there are others that can play utility in the backline who can play at rover," he said.
