Recipients of the commercial agriculture scholarships to study at the Fiji National University (FNU) were urged to perform to their best.
These were the words of the Agriculture Marketing Authority's (AMA) sales and marketing manager Alivereti Yaya, who also said the students should appreciate the opportunity.
"The students should strive for the best in the future and make the most of the great opportunity provided to them," he said. Mr Yaya encouraged the students to view their studies as a challenge and focus on their aim to become skillful farmers in future.
The 50 students who received the government-funded scholarships are located at FNU's Koronivia campus in Nausori.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information yesterday, this initiative was part of the government's stance to produce a new generation of farmers who would optimise food production and become quality food exporters.
