THE Perpetual Cup challenge match between Police and VICC could be replayed next weekend.
This was after heavy rain in the capital city washed out competition at Albert Park midway in the challenge match.
Competition official Mahmood Ali Maqbool said the challenge match was in its first innings when it started to rain.
"Novotel VICC were on 115 runs for the loss of five wickets in 17.5 overs when it started to rain," he said.
"The rain was so heavy that we had to call off the match and the rest of the games were also cancelled."
He said had the rain been light, the match would have carried on.
"It is very possible the match between holders Police and challengers VICC will be played next Saturday."
