NEW Nasinu soccer coach Jone Rakai will use tomorrow's knockout competition to asses the performance of district reps.

The Nasinu side currently leads the Premier division of the National Football League and will be on a bye this weekend.

Nasinu Football Association secretary Shaneel Maharaj said they would host the knockout competition at Rishikul College grounds to kick off their local league competition.

He said Rakai would keep a close watch on the players in the knockout, especially the district reps.

"This is part of the selection process that our new coach, Jone Rakai is using," Maharaj said.

"Our team is on a bye this week and so he (Rakai) will see the players performance on Sunday and then work on the district side next week for the National League games."

He said Friends United, Waste Recycles, Nadera and Lincoln would be sides to watch in the knockout.
