SAVUSAVU soccer side will be relying on the young and upcoming players to steer the side out of the danger zone when it faces Rewa and Navua this weekend.

The Manoj Lal-coached side is placed at the bottom of the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League points table and desperate to jump into top eight.

Team director Albert Andrews said they would miss the services of key players who were either serving match suspension or were not available for this weekend.

"Most of our senior players won't be playing for us this weekend. Some of them have opted out to play rugby in Nadi," the former Fiji and Rewa soccer rep said.

"This weekend's game is very important to us as we need wins to get into the top eight of the points table."

Meanwhile, Navua team coach Manoj Kumar said Savusavu would be tough to beat in Labasa.

"I was shocked to learn that they lost 2-7 against Tavua but then realised that it was 3-2 until (Jope) Lomu got sent-off and Tavua made use of the numerical advantage in the last 20-odd minutes."

Savusavu will play Rewa at 1.30pm today before taking on Navua at 1.30pm tomorrow at Subrail Park.
