The award winning restaurant

ONE of three restaurants at Nadi Bay Resort Hotel scooped the Best Quality with Value Award at the AON Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards.

The award-winning Anntoinette's Restaurant opens for dinner from 3pm and closes at 11pm daily.

Serving as the resort's main restaurant, Anntoinette's Restaurant has both inside and outside seating, with the main area being under a traditional thatch bure.

"Our Anntoinette's menu now includes Italian, Chinese, Indian and local dishes.

"We have always kept prices much lower than most other Nadi hotels as we appreciate that while local food purchase costs can be high, the industry wages are much lower than other Pacific countries, especially Australia and New Zealand and of course, Europe, where most of Fiji's guests come from," the hotel said in a statement.

The resort's head chef Jonathan Petueli manages not only Anntoinette's kitchen but the resort's The Mango Restaurant kitchen.

The Mango Restaurant serves breakfast and lunch and is located in a welcoming attractive environment right by the hotel's main pool area.

In 2006, the hotel produced a cook book with the assistance of Glen Craig, an Australian, then living in Fiji, who was both a professional photographer and a creative writer.

With Mr Petueli's award-winning recipes, the duo produced "Under The Mango Tree", a cook book that was eventually shortlisted as the "Worlds Best Foreign Cook Book" by Gourmand at the Beijing Awards in 2007. Jonathan's recipes were an important factor in receiving this award, the hotel said in a statement.

In recent years, Mr Petueli has improved his cooking repertoire whilst training his key staff, the hotel said.

"Our restaurant is available for evening meals, provides the perfect opportunity for groups to enjoy great, inexpensive food, in an exclusive environment, away from any other influences," the resort said.

Nadi Bay Resort Hotel says it will meet any reasonable budget and provide immediate quotes for groups, parties or weddings.

"We take this opportunity to thank Jonathan and his team in their efforts which resulted in winning the best Quality with Value Award at the AON Fiji Excellence Awards," the hotel said.
