New flat screen to improve patient education on NCDs

THE president of the JICA Alumni Association of Fiji, Jitoko Tikolevu and JICA chief executive Shumon Yosihiara have presented a 50" flat screen TV to the Nausori Hospital.

At Tuesday's presentation, Dr Pita Vuniqumu, Dr Tevita Qoroniasi and the management received the gift for the hospital's outpatients section.

The officials said the gift would allow waiting patients the opportunity to relax and watch the screening of NCD videos and improve their understanding of NCDs.

Dr Vuniqumu said about 300 patients went through the outpatients section of the hospital within three hours a day while Mr Yosihiara was appreciative of JICA's efforts to help in the fight against NCDs.

Mr Tikolevu said he too was happy to be part of the move to reduce NCDs.
