SPONSORS for the Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s this weekend, Paradise Beverages, has urged the national sevens selectors to be present at Prince Charles Park in Nadi this weekend to scout for potential talent.
Paradise Beverages marketing manager Joe Rodan said this was a very important year for rugby 7s.
He said with the Rugby World Cup 7s in Moscow in June, there was focus on building a winning combination.
Rodan said the fans in the country wanted Fiji to win the title in order to reaffirm its status as the top 7s playing nation in the world.
"Fiji has won the RWC 7s twice and we want to win it again this year. We never want to lose.
"The message from the public to the selectors, coaches and Fiji Rugby Union is that we want to win not only in Hong Kong but the RWC 7s as well," Rodan said.
"Companies like Paradise Beverages have done a lot of sponsorship to provide players that can make Fiji win.
"Everyone says that we have the best 7s players. The challenge is with the coaches and FRU to take the individual players and mould them into a winning combination.
"If we win in Hong Kong 7s and the RWC 7s that will put Fiji back on to the map. It will make people realise that Fiji is a force to be reckoned with."
Rodan officially launched the Nawaka 7s pool draws at the Fun World Plaza in Nadi yesterday.
