UNDER Fiji's chairmanship, the G77 and China have held a full-day's brainstorming meeting at ambassadorial level on the follow-up to the Rio+20 outcomes document, The Future We Want.

According to a government statement, the brainstorming session tackled issues relating to the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, and follow-up to the MDGs, all of which are interlinked processes that will help shape the post-2015 development agenda.

The statement said that in addition to the Group of 77 ambassadors and delegates, invited guests participated in the brainstorming sessions. These included Under Secretary-General Wu Hongbo of the UN's Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Executive Director of The South Centre Martin Khor, and chief economist of The South Centre, Dr Yilmaz Akyüz.
