Author gets commendation for scholarly work

EDUCATION permanent secretary Dr Brij Lal officially launched a book titled Footprints from the Foothills of Nakauvadra Ranges at the Fiji National University last weekend.

He saluted the hard work of author and former school teacher Paras Naidu for writing a wonderful story. "I am glad that Mr Naidu has fulfilled his obligation to the family and to the nation," he said.

"Such a tome is valuable not just for us, the citizens of this country, but also for the present and future leaders at every level of governance in the country. After all, the country is best served when there is an environment of pluralism, discussion and debate that leads to honest and open expression of views on issues."
