THE national cricket side have resumed training for the ICC World Cricket League Division 7 Tournament that will be held in Botswana in April.

A total of 18 players are in training and national coach Joeli Mateyawa said majority of the players turned up for training while some were busy with work commitments.

He said the side would be boosted by the inclusion of the four Army club players who were denied visas to the New Zealand to participate in the EAP T20 Tournament in Auckland earlier this month.

"Despite the players not travelling we managed to finish third in the event which was better compared to our fifth placing last year," Mateyawa said.

"So now with the inclusion of these four players, our side will be strengthened," he said.

The tournament which will be the last of its kind will be played in Gaborone, Botswana from the April 4 to 14 will see the top two teams advancing to the next stage of qualifiers.

Mateyawa said New Zealand tour was a good exposure for the young players in the side.

"It was the first time some players played on a turf which was different to what we play on."
