THE Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Association is hoping to identify the next generation of national reps by the end of next month.
The association has been invited to field a team in the Trans Tasmania Netball Series which will be held in New Zealand later this year.
Association secretary Kasanita Cavuca said the first trials would be held on March 9 in Suva.
"This is the first time we are going to participate in a tournament like this and we look forward to it," she said.
"The tournament will feature teams from Australia, Malaysia and Samoa."
She said they would select 12 players to travel to New Zealand and they would also name three non-travelling reserves.
"We have been telling schools to train their girls and send them to the trials.
"We are expecting a lot of players to turn up for the trials and we want them to be fit and ready."
Cavuca said the overseas tour would be a good exposure for the young girls who may be dreaming on one day playing for the national team.
"This tournament is one way the girls can show their talents to the national selectors.
"After the tournament, maybe they can try and join the national under 21 side with their experience," she said.
