EVERYTHING is falling into place and boxing fans will experience one of the best local fight programs during Sigatoka Electric Limited Naidiri Boxing Promotion at Prince Charles Park in Nadi next month.
That's the word from promoter Abdul Rafiq as he previews the "Let's Get it On" program that will feature two of the country's best welterweight fighters in Junior Farzan Ali and Opeti Tagi.
Rafiq said the fight was expected to be explosive as both fighters had been preparing well for the fight.
Rafiq said word from the Junior Farzan camp was that he wants Tagi to come forward and fight him toe-to-toe.
"Junior has been training well in Nadi and he is calling on Tagi not to run around too much but come forward and fight," Rafiq said.
"But Tagi has replied and told Junior that he has a fight plan that he wants to follow and he will stick to that."
"I believe this is going to be one of the best fights in the welterweight division the country has ever seen," Rafiq said.
"There has been lots of talk from both camps but everything will be settled once and for all on the night of March 16."
Rafiq said there would be eight professional fights plus three amateur bouts on that program.
"We have some very exciting line-ups for this program as we have put together some very good fights."
In the main supporting fight Nadi's upcoming Junior Naivogo will take on Jittu Boxing Stable's Junior Maku in an eight -rounder.
In the feature fight of the six rounders will be the battle of heavyweights Napoleon Taumoepeau and Alipate Nagata.
Taumoepeau has just returned from New Zealand where he sparred with Sonny Bill Williams before his fight early this month.
"This fight is just one of the many exciting match-ups that is lined up for the program," Rafiq said.
