ORGANISERS were impressed with the Nadroga netball friendly games that were held at Nadroga Sangam School grounds last Saturday.
Competition official Judy Kumar said 11 women's and three men's teams were part of the day-long event.
Frendz won the open title beating Sigatoka Mathar Sangam 19-8 in the final.
The men's title went to Town Rangers which overcame Frendz 10-7.
"It was history in Nadroga netball that two Fijians of Indian descent were participating and also urged them to affiliate to NNA for improvement of skills and building a good relationship with Fijian players," Kumar said.
Kumar said round two games would be held together with Nadroga Rugby 10s knockout at Lawaqa Park and he urged all clubs and fans to come in numbers to support and revive Nadroga netball.
"We also thank Navosa Netball for coming in to assist Nadroga and helping them back to where they were in the 1990s when players Sisi Howard, Kelera Nadalo, Vilimaina Davu and Litia Vosailagi were in the team.
"We have some new clubs joing in this week like Vatukarasa, Senibiau, Cuvu Sanatan, Ravuka Sharks, Lomavata and Blue Dolphins.
"The draws will be published on Friday and all clubs are to confirm participation by Wednesday as those that fail will not be allowed to take the court on Saturday," Kumar said.
"Nadroga Netball is looking at more than 50 clubs this year as it is one of the biggest province and so many talents are here."
Davetalevu , Seniwi , Tuva, Sigatoka and Frendz are the top clubs in Nadroga Netball 2013 Season.
