ORGANISERS of the Lami Women's Futsal League were impressed with the first round of competition last Friday.
The three games that were played at the Victoria Courts saw Delta Tigers thrash Grass Hoppers 13-0, Seals lost 2-4 to Tornados and the U16 Green side won by default over U16 Blue.
Lami Womens Soccer Association president Ana Seru said competition would run on a round robin basis for the next five weeks.
She said it was too early to determine the top teams in the competition as it was just the first round.
"The competition was awesome and I was impressed with the new players because of their performance, skill and teamwork they portrayed during the game," Seru said.
"Most of all everyone enjoyed the game," she said.
She said the next round of games would be interesting to watch.
"The second round of games is expected to be a bit different, the game intensity will be higher and players now know what is expected from them," Seru said.
The top two teams will qualify for the cup final, third and fourth placed team will qualify for the plate final and fifth and sixth placed sides will qualify for the bowl final.
