There are difficulties and limitations to health care services says health minister Doctor Neil Sharma.
"If we look at health care, there are difficulties, limitations and we are doing our level best in improving the quality of operating theatres, raising the number of human resources, doctors and nurses being trained," Dr Sharma said.
"We also look at the ward facilities being available for people to use."
He said for Suva the ministry had four international level operating theatres which were now being complimented for by overseas visiting teams.
"As part of further development we would be putting in three additional new theatres," he said.
"We are renovating three or four additional theatres so that Suva could have close to eleven operating theatres.
"Once that happens and once we have the right number of doctors to be able to mend those facilities, the capacity would go up dramatically.
He said the ministry would commission very shortly a renovated Tailevu and Namosi ward which provides an additional 40 beds to patients.
"We need huge amount of capital resources and we need manpower which always remains a restraining factor."
