FIJI Rugby Union (FRU) has already benefitted from the signing of Mizuno as an official footwear sponsor on Thursday.

The global sports brand assisted FRU in supplying boots to the Digicel Fiji Sevens team to the Gold Coast 7s in Australia last year.

Fiji won that tournament after beating New Zealand 32-14 in the final.

"Many players around the world have the Mizuno boot as their footwear of choice on the playing field and this was never more evident than at the last Rugby World Cup where a majority of top international players opted for the Mizuno brand," FRU chief executive officer Manasa Baravilala said.

Mizuno representative based in New Zealand, James O'Rourke, believes they have signed into one of world rugby's most thrilling brands.
