THE Labasa soccer side is confident of tasting victories in their two Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League matches this weekend.

The Babasiga Lions fourth on the points table, are scheduled to host Tavua tomorrow and then Ba on Sunday at Subrail Park.

Labasa Football Association secretary Nilesh Lal said all players in their squad were enthusiastic about their games this weekend.

He said victories in both matches would see them jump up a spot on the points table and swap places with third placed Suva who are on a bye this weekend.

"Everything to do with preparation had been going well expect for heavy rain for the past two days," Lal said.

"But everyone is excited about our games this weekend, it is a chance for us to move up on the points table so we are targeting wins in both games," he said.

"We have the capacity to win and that is what we are focused on for this weekend."

He said they were wary of Tavua and Ba's capabilities and were concentrating on shutting them out in the games.

"Ba is obviously a champion side and Tavua should not be underestimated.

"We have won three games in a row so far and we want to continue that winning streak and so we will be careful with both teams because we know what they are both capable of."

Lal has called on soccer lovers in the northern division to flock to Subrail Park tomorrow and Sunday.

"I would like to see all Labasa soccer fans at the ground because vocal support is very important to the players.

"Vocal support will inspire the players to do better on the field and give us the much needed encouragement we need in the two games," he said.
