CELEBRITY chef Lance Seeto has made another unprecedented achievement this year by being the only individual nominated under the prestigious Excellence in Marketing Award category in the 2012 AON Excellence in Fiji Tourism Awards

The Australian chef not only loves food but also loves what our local fresh produce has to offer to the culinary world.

He is passionate about his work and loves the idea of using local delicacies with the minimum use of unhealthy products that contribute to non-communicable diseases.

With about 124,000 likes on this Fijian Safari Facebook page, Mr Seeto explores the many organic products available in Fiji.

He also has a local television program that runs on Fiji One television called Taste of Paradise but the Castaway Island Resort chef has been documenting his conquests in the kitchen for years through blog sites, pictures and facebook.

On his website, lanceseeto.com, he offers simple recipes for guests at Castaway Island Resort.

"Here is just a sample of some of the incredibly fresh and delicious dishes that await you during your stay at the Castaway Island, Fiji," he said.

"I've been truly inspired and blessed and I've taken care to use only the finest, freshest, locally grown ingredients including organic vegetables, abundant fresh local seafood and free range meats available."

He said he was honoured to be nominated but stressed his work was not for recognition.

"The work that I do and the health education programs that I carry out around the country were just to be able to shed a light on the many great produce that Fijians have at their doorstep.

"I certainly wasn't looking for any recognition from anyone when I set out to do this but at the same time I am quite honoured to be nominated for an award."

He said local food in Fiji was something to be proud of. "You have so many great health ingredients that you could use not only for your health benefit but for your family too. He is nominated in the Excellence in Marketing category.
