Update: 6:47PM COMMISSIONER Western Commander Joeli Cawaki said heavy rain being experienced in the Western Division should clear by midnight.

"We do not expect rivers to break their banks but we are warning people from venturing into creeks and drains because of the likelihood of flash flooding," he said.

"The weather is expected to clear by midnight according to the information that we have just received."

DISMAC has begun operations to ascertain the extent of flooding.
