THE host of the 2012 AON Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards, Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa, is up for two awards this weekend.

Sofitel Resort and Spa, which has hosted the award ceremony for several years, has been nominated in the Fine Dining Category for its V restaurant while wedding executive, Selai Lewaqere is one of three nominees for the Frontliner Award.

Sofitel's general manager Adam Laker said the resort was honoured to be recognised again for its excellent services in fine dining courtesy of V restaurant.

"At the end of the day, it's the guest who benefits from this kind of recognition because each resort in the country will want their restaurant recognised and we do what we can in terms of upgrades and recruitment of people to offer the best services to our guests," said Mr Laker.

He said the win would also give the winners bragging rights for being the best resort restaurant in the country.

Wedding executive Selai Lewaqere said the award was testament to the hard work put in by her team and the resort.

Mrs Lewaqere said personal sacrifices and a passion for her work allowed her to arrange weddings that satisfy their guests.

"This nomination is a great testament to the hard work that I've put in and by the great support that Sofitel staff has given me," said Mrs Lewaqere.
