Positive support

AWARENESS of the Village Health and Wellness program has started in a few villages of Macuata province in the north. Spearheaded by the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation and ACATA (Action for Children and the Aged), the program is aimed at promoting a guideline towards healthy living through making use of fresh food already available in villages. Foundation executive Ambalika Devi said they had started working with the iTaukei Ministry. "At divisional levels, we go through the provincial offices and we have received enormous support from the provincial officers which is positive."

Milestone achievement

THE Cakaudrove Provincial Council meeting will be held in Somosomo, Taveuni in May. Assistant roko tui Cakaudrove Anare Drauna told villagers of Natewa and Tunuloa the achievement by the Sisi Initiative Support Group would surely be discussed at the meeting. He said having a local committee that was made up of youths achieve an award of the United Nations Development Plan sustainable community projects, was a milestone for the people of Cakaudrove. "And there is a need to have a bigger reception to recognise this achievement," he said.
