Villagers vow to fight NCD

Thursday, February 21, 2013

VILLAGE health workers in the coastal area of Naduri in Macuata province yesterday vowed to enforce healthy lifestyle in their communities.

Their plans are to increase and turn idle land into big vegetable and root crop farms.

The plan by community health workers and members of the village healthy living committee follows revelation of high cases of non-communicable diseases (NCD) in Fiji, made known at their training held in Nabukadogo Village.

Organised by the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation and Action for Children And The Aged (ACATA), the health workers from Naduri, Namama and Nabukadogo were told of the importance of eating the right type of food to prevent NCDs.
