Red Rock to make amends

RED Rock will be hoping to have Jasa Veremalua back in the team when they host the second edition of their sevens tournament.

Coach Lote Rasiga said it would be ideal to have prop Veremalua, Viliame Vanua and Bainivalu Vucago running for the Lami-based side.

"Hopefully, they won't go into camp this week which should enable them to play for us," Rasiga said.

His 60-member squad trained yesterday as they look forward to making up for last week's disappointment.

"Ball retention and quick-play-the-ball from rucks and mauls is very important," Rasiga said.

"We have been working on that. We need quick balls. The recycling has to be a lot faster than what it was last week."

Last Saturday, Fiji sevens winger Benito Masilevu scored a last-gasp try to help Lomaiviti Barbarians to a 19-17 victory over Red Rock One in the MH-sponsored tournament.

Marika Vunibaka's team was down by seven points when Masilevu went in under the posts, handing Lomaiviti the winning try and $1500 prizemoney.

Earlier, Lomaiviti beat Red Rock Two in the semi-final 12-10 while Red Rock One edged BSP Life Wardens 12-7 in the other semi-final.

This week the prizemoney would be $2000 for the winner and $500 for the runner-up.
