Boat for students

GOVERNMENT help to students of Wailevu Catholic School in Tunuloa, Cakaudrove has been welcomed by students' parents. Wailevu Village headman Mikaele Nasabo said the students from the settlements of Dreketi and Navidi have been transported to school by a government-given boat. "We have about 30 students from those settlements and the boat has been a great help."

Promising initiative

YAQONA farming has been promising for the villagers of Wailevu in Tunuloa compared to the sale of dalo in local markets. Village headman Mikaele Nasabo said dalo farms were only used for family consumption while yaqona had been set aside for income purposes. "We spend much less to transport yaqona to Savusavu to sell in the market compared to taking dalo," he said.

Foundation help for villages

THE Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation World of Difference program will give more wheelchairs to two villages of Naduri who have been living with disability. Foundation executive officer Ambalika Devi said the wheelchairs would help with mobility of the recipients. The foundation has done much to improve the living conditions of recipients.
