Update: 1:34PM INDUSTRY and Trade Ministry permanent secretary Shaheen Ali will open a national workshop on the European Unions Economic Partnership Agreement Proposal on Rules of Origin in Suva tomorrow.
The objective of the meeting is to update Fiji's private sector and other relevant stakeholders on the details of the EU's EPA proposal on the Rules of Origin, and to assess the practical implications of the proposal on Fijis manufacturing sector.
The workshop is expected to increase awareness and understanding of the Fijian private sector and policy makers on how the EU's EPA proposal works and finalise the list of products to be considered in the cumulation provisions and determine product list rules for Fiji.
