Update: 11:05AM THE Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) has issued a strong warning to people who are tampering and making a direct connection to their water system.

Authority team leader corporate communications Fulori Turaga said this was an offence and those found would be dealt with accordingly.

"If you are making a direct connection, make every effort to deter and regularise your connections to avoid being faced with charges," Ms Turaga said.

Early this month, the WAF said a man was convicted and fined $1000 for a direct connection for less than three days.
