SOME police officers will be rewarded at their annual Service Excellence Awards this week.

The Fiji Police Force's awards night is scheduled to be held on Friday at the Fiji Police Academy gymnasium in Nasova, Suva.

The awards night was supposed to have been held last year but it was carried forward to this year because of the natural disasters which affected the country in December last year.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said there would be 40 awards up for grabs on the night.

Of the 40 awards, 35 will be individual awards and five will be team awards, he said.

The theme for the night is "Achieving Excellence through Critical Change".

Outrigger on the Lagoon Fiji's general manager Peter Hopgood will be the chief guest at the awards function.
