THE first bus operator in the Western Division to use the new e-ticketing system has welcomed the new initiative of government and its private partners.

Kadar Buksh Limited executive chairman Nisar Ali Shah said their buses have been using the new system for the past week and although it had initially experienced a few problems, the company has all but given the thumbs up for other bus operators in the west to adopt the new system.

"We had a few teething problems initially but like any other new product, once you get used to it, things will run smoothly," he said.

"For the past week, some of our buses have been using the new e-ticketing system although a few issues came up, everyone involved, public and our drivers were happy at how easy it was to use."

The new system was launched over the weekend by Vodafone Fiji and Foneology in Lautoka.

Dominion Transport Company Limited finance manager Manish Gounder said the system looked simple to use.
