Defending champions keep clean slate at Vulaca

DEFENDING champions 2Day FM Suva and Kinoya are on track after recording maximum points in day one of the Vulaca Championship in Laucala yesterday.

2Day FM Suva leads the men's Pool One while Kinoya heads the women's Pool One after early rounds of games.

With one more round to go, the two teams have already booked their places in the quarter-finals which will be played today at the Vodafone Arena.

Nakasi looks to join 2Day FM Suva as runner-up from Pool One while unbeaten Gold FM Suva and USP are the frontrunners in Pool Two.

Host Raiwai Gold leads Pool Three followed by Raiwaqa One while Kinoya Gold heads Pool Four with Nadonumai having a good chance to qualify as the runner-up.

Bula FM Suva has a slender chance and will hope the Lami-based team loses its final pool match today.

In the women's competition, the Claire Delai-led Kinoya is the hotshot in Pool One after impressive wins over its opponents yesterday.

Suva Black which has the services of Vietnam-based Anaseini Seniloli and Torika Nuku tops Pool Two.

Games co-ordinator Mitieli Waqa said more exciting clashes were expected today.
