A BOLLYWOOD movie that was shot here last year will be released in May.

The movie Supermodel was shot mostly in Nadi, Lautoka and Sigatoka mid-last year.

It has Ashmit Patel in the lead male role and Veena Malik in the lead female role.

With the name related to models and modelling, several models are also starring in the movie, which is about a poor village girl out to make a name for herself.

The movie's producer Ravi Ahlawat told this newspaper from India that the movie was in the post production stage.

In an interview in September last year, Mr Ahlawat had said the movie would be released in either December last year or early January this year.

However, he confirmed this week that the movie was still in the post production stage and it would now be released in May.

Mr Ahlawat did not give any reason for the delay in the movie's release but confirmed that "it will be in May."

He also said he would return to Fiji for the production of another movie.

"I am planning my next movie in Fiji and we are talking to the stars here and as something is finalised, will let you know," he said earlier.

Meanwhile, model turned actress Aparna Jadhav, who plays the role of the lead actor's secretary, said she was looking forward to the movie's release.

It is Ms Jadhav's first movie and it also gave her a break to start acting in Marathi movies, some of which have been shot in India.

The beauty from Maharashtra has also shown interest in working with some advertising agencies in Fiji for a short stint.

"I am really missing Fiji and I will come back there. I'm also interested in working in Fiji as a model or come for shows as I'm a very good dancer too," Ms Jadhav told this newspaper.
