Lifeline for 3
THREE students from Nadi have been given a lifeline by the Fiji Resort Beach and Spa which has opted to pay for the children's school fees. According to the resort's sales executive, Adrienne Sword, the students from Andrew's Primary School, Nadi College and Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial College would have their fees fully paid in 2013. The students were identified with the assistance of the Foundation for the Education of Needy Children.
Making decisions
SCHOOLS in the Mamanuca Group have embarked on a program that encourages each student to make decisions and take action in protecting their environment. Organised by the Mamanuca Environment Society, the school program included Ratu Nemani Memorial School, Nabila Public School and Vuda District School. Participating schools in the Mamanuca's include Namamanuca Primary School, Mana Seventh day Adventist and Malolo District. MES media officer, Emosi Lasaqa said the program promoted interdisciplinary integration of subject matter, problem and issue-based learning experiences.
Home destroyed
A three-bedroom concrete house in Carrere's Votualevu in Nadi was destroyed in a fire on Wednesday. According to police, the estimate damage was $190,000. Investigations continue.
